The Next Version is Coming Soon

If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ve probably noticed something: Raceday hasn’t had a big update in a few years. That wasn’t by accident. It was survival.

Back in 2019, we were signing up new clients at an incredible pace. Oval tracks, drag strips, snowmobile snocross circuits, motocross, UTV racing, rally, karting – you name it, people were coming to Raceday because it was the fastest, easiest, and most complete way to run registrations and manage events. We were growing quickly and planning for more.

Then COVID Killed It

Overnight, the racing world came to a stop. Events were canceled. Tracks closed. Promoters and associations disappeared, some for good. The reality was brutal: many of those who had been the backbone of grassroots racing either retired or decided life away from the track suited them better. The events we built our business on dropped to nearly zero, and new signups dried up completely.

At that point, we had two choices: shut it down or see if we could survive by going super lean.

We chose lean. That meant holding back on sales and marketing. It meant shelving feature development, delaying expansion plans, and doing whatever we could to stay alive. It wasn’t easy—truthfully, there were several times we almost didn’t make it.

But by 2022, the tide began to turn. Races came back. New promoters stepped up. Signups slowly returned, and the Raceday community started growing again. We were still lean, but at least we could breathe.

Fast forward to today.

Thanks to advancements in how fast and accurately we can code and coding tools, I’m thrilled to share that a major new version of Raceday is on the way. It’s been a long time in the making, and while we don’t have a firm release date yet, I can promise you this: it’s going to be faster, easier to use, and more secure than ever.

Going lean also had a hidden benefit: We realized we could operate the business continually lean, which is required for anything motorsports.

To our current clients, let me just say this from the bottom of my heart: God bless you for sticking with us. You’re the reason we’re still here!

Also, we’ve been keeping track of your feature requests all along, and we can’t wait to start implementing them as soon as possible.

The racing world has changed a lot since 2019, but the spirit of competition is still alive and well. Raceday is here for it. And soon, you’ll see just how far we’ve come.
